Embrace PHC exercise, Akatsi South residents urged

Akatsi (VR), July 2, GNA – Mr Leo Nelson Adzidogah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, has appealed to residents in the area to avail themselves for the ongoing Population and Housing Census (PHC) exercise.

Mr Adzidogah made the appeal when census officers from the Ghana Statistical Service enumerated him and his household as part of the nationwide exercise.

“We must provide every information demanded by the officials.”

“Some are not willing to offer their details due to several reasons which must be disregarded,” he added.

However, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed a smooth exercise after monitoring some events within the Akatsi Municipality.

The PHC exercise is to achieve complete coverage of all structures and persons in Ghana.

It would also provide updated demographic, socio-economic, and housing data aimed at supporting development and decision-making as well as the tracking of global, regional, and national development goals.

A total of 226 field officers as well as five District Data Quality Management Team (DDQMT) are in charge of the exercise in the Municipality.
