Chief appeals for the reappointment of Nzema East Municipal Chief Executive

Gwira (WR), April 8, GNA – Nana Kwame Mesu II, Chief of Gwira Eshiem in the Nzema East Municipality, has entreated President Akufo-Addo to retain Mr Frank Okpenyen as the Municipal Chief Executive.

The chief is of the view that Mr Okpenyen would ensure continuity of development projects in the area.

He described Mr Okpenyen as development-oriented, adding, “As chiefs, we are not supposed to engage in politics but good conduct deserves recommendation.”

He said Mr Okpenyen had developed Kutukrom and its environs.

“I wish President Akufo-Addo will consider Mr Frank Okpenyen as MCE for Nzema East,” he said.

The Chief made the appeal at Gwira Eshiem when the MCE, Mr Okpenyen handed over a newly built Community-Based Health Planning Service (CHPs) Compound to the community to promote health care in the area.

Mr Okpenyen inspected ongoing projects in the Kutukrom-Tebakrom Community.

The Chief of the Kutukrom-Tebakrom community, Nana Daniel Kuah commended the MCE and the Akufo-Addo-led government for fixing the deplorable road network.

He pledged to support the contractor and his workers to complete the road project on time.

Mr Okpenyen, who was the Constituency Secretary of the NPP in Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira in 2016, became the Nzema East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in 2017.
