Health workers in Asene Manso Akroso district get vaccine jab

Akyem Akroso (E/R), March, GNA – The COVID-19 vaccination exercise has been rolled out to health workers in Asene Manso Akroso District and the patronage is encouraging.

The Ghana News Agency in an interview with Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Ansah, the District Health Director, after getting the AstraZeneca vaccine jab said, the only pain he had was from the injection site.

He encouraged nurses to participate in the exercise to boost public’s confidence in getting vaccinated.

He said the District had about 300 health workers including private facilities and was expecting all to get involved except expectant mothers.

The exercise, which started on March 29, 2020 is ongoing in about 15 health facilities serving as vantage points and will end in five days.

Places where the inoculation is ongoing include Akroso, Asene, Manso, and Atiannama-Nkwanta.

Mr. Owusu Ansah called on the public to keep complying with the COVID-19 protocols of wearing of nose mask, frequent hand washing with soap under running water, physical distancing, and hand sanitisation.
