Bodi DCE unhappy with high teenage pregnancy cases

Bodi (WNR), Feb. 1, GNA – Mr Ignatius Akwasi Amankwah, the Bodi District Chief Executive, has expressed worry about the rise of Teenage pregnancy in the District.

He has, therefore, advised parents to keep an eye on their girl child and encouraged them to focus on their studies rather than promiscuous living to earn them a better future.

The DCE was speaking at the Annual Performance review meeting of the District Health Directorate.

The meeting offered various health service providers in the district, the opportunity to air their achievement, challenges and form synergies for better health care delivery.

He also called on all health workers to take the safety protocols of the COVID-19 seriously in order not to contract the disease.

The District Director of Health, Mr Joseph Abass Asigri, said the service would revamp all activities concerning COVID-19 to halt the spread.

He said the COVID-19 Preventive Committee would continue their education on adherence of the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Mr Asigri announced that a testing facility was established at the Sefwi-Wiawso Government Hospital to ease the stress of travelling to Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
