NEPAD to hold symposium to mark 20th anniversary

Accra, Jan. 25, GNA — The African Union Development Agency and New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD) is set to hold a high-level symposium to mark 20 years of NEPAD implementation.

The symposium is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 10:00 hours to 16:00 hours (GMT+2) via a virtual platform with the link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_63olMLj6ROWx2G4kebb9_w

The symposium will reflect on the successes, achievements and challenges in NEPAD implementation, and examine the relevance and future of the first continental development agency.

This was made known in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency by AUDA-NEPAD.
‘‘The symposium will comprise a high-level roundtable and panels for open dialogue on NEPAD and actions needed for Building Africa We Want,’’ it said.

The statement said dignitaries at the event would include; Mr Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa and Chairperson of the African Union, Mr Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda and Chairperson of the NEPAD HSGO, Mr Moussa Faki Mahamat.

Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Madam Ellen Sirleaf Johnson, former President of the Republic of Liberia and Nobel Prize Laureate, Mr Thabo Mbeki, former President of the Republic of South Africa and Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, Chief Executive Officer, AUDA-NEPAD.
