Obuasi(A/R), Nov. 12, GNA – Mr John Dramani Mahama, Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Thursday suspended his six-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, following the demise of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr Mahama announced his campaign suspension at a mini rally at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
In a sad and sombre mood, Mr Mahama said: “Today, as we entered Obuasi Town, we did not receive good news. We just received some very sad news. It makes it impossible for us to continue this campaign tour of Ashanti.”
“So, I have spoken to the Chairman of our National Campaign Team and the committee agreed for us to hold a brief suspension of the Ashanti campaign tour. The campaign team will announce a date for the resumption of the tour.”
