Tatorme holds fundraising meeting against COVID19

Tatorme (V/R), June 11, GNA – Tatorme, a farming community in the Akatsi South District has organised a fundraising meeting to solicit funds to combat COVID19.

The meeting, organised by opinion leaders was also to adopt a comprehensive approach at containing the spread of the disease.

Mr Edward Doe Adade, Assembly Member for the Tatorme – Fiato Electoral area said increasing cases of Coronavirus in the country necessitated the community engagement for a local campaign against the pandemic.
He said though Akatsi South had only a case, the idea was to ensure that the farming area remained COVID19-free and commended philanthropists for donating Veronica buckets, tissue papers, hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, nosemasks, and some cash towards the campaign.

Chief Superintendent of Police, Joseph Atsu Dzineku, the Akatsi South District Police Commander said the Police would deal with people disobeying COVID19 preventive protocols.

The meeting was attended by Chiefs in the community and its environs, Unit Committee Members, the Assembly Member and other opinion leaders.
