Kpone, (GAR) 01 May, GNA – The Kpone Katamanso Municipal Directorate of the Social Welfare Department has presented assorted items to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Municipality.
The items which included, chest fridges, toiletries, laptops computers, toothpastes, stationaries, worth about GH¢46,000.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Georgina Asare, Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Social Welfare Director, said the Municipality had about 600 registered PWDs including students.
She added that 10 beneficiaries applied for the items needed to empower them economically as they earned a decent living in their various communities, saying other PWDs would receive theirs soon.
Mrs. Asare encouraged the PWDs to observe the various hygiene protocols put in place to help stop the spread of the COVID-19.
Madam Hannah Annor- Gyamfi, a beneficiary, expressed gratitude to the Social Welfare Department called on her colleagues to make good use of the items during “this difficult times.”
