Accra, Apr. 27, GNA – Mr Kwabena Osei Bonsu, Chief Executive Officer of BigCash Ghana has called on Ghanaians to support the needy and the less-privileged in the society at this time when the country was battling with the coronavirus pandemic.
He said the time has come for the citizenry to show love to one another especially the needy who cannot provide for themselves three square meals, to enable them to live a meaningful life.
Mr Osei Bonsu made the call when the company and its partners, Kick Malaria Out of Africa undertook a fumigation exercise at the Osu Children’s Home in Accra.
He said the fumigation exercise was to rid the Home of bedbugs and other infectious insects so that the inmates could stay healthy.
Mr Osei Bonsu said the company would undertake similar exercises in many government institutions and homes under the ‘Operation Make Ghana a Bedbugs-Free’ project launched by the company last year.
The Chief Executive Officer appealed to pharmaceutical and other companies to support the Osu Children’s Home by providing them with essential drugs and other needs to enable the Home to cater for the inmates.
Mr Reindorf M. Dartey, Assistant Manager of the Osu Children’s Home commended the company for the exercise and said the exercise had come at a time when the country was fighting a coronavirus pandemic.
He enumerated some of the problems facing the Home as the payment of water and electricity bills, the provision of solar panels, drugs, sanitary pads, protein, staple food, and detergents.
Mr Dartey expressed the hope that the exercise would go a long way to make the facility a bedbug-free one.
