Interpharma donates to Koforidua Regional Hospital

Koforidua, April 22, GNA – The Management of Interpharma Company Limited, a leading supplier of pharmaceutical products in the Eastern Region, has presented over GH¢10,000.00 worth of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

The items were to support the staff of the Hospital in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus in the Eastern Region.

The items include 500 designed face masks, 150 protective gowns, 100 hand washing materials and 30 packs of tissues papers.

Presenting the items, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Interpharma, Mr Bright Kwabena Boateng, said the presentation was to motivate the staff of the Hospital to work hard in their efforts in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

He explained that the nature of the pandemic require the support of the private sector in the fight against us in the country.

Mr Boateng advised the staff of the Hospital to abide by the protocols to guide them in their work and to protect themselves against contracting the virus while helping others.

He said the lifting of the partial lockdown did not mean the virus was no more in the environment and explained that the current figures released by the Ghana Health Service indicated that the COVID-19 had now moved to the communities and therefore advised the public to abide by the health directives to help protect themselves against the coronavirus.

The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Cardinald Newton received the items on behalf of the Hospital and thanked the donors for the support.

He said the items had come at the right time to help ease the pressure on the little facilities that the hospital had.

He pledged to ensure that the items donated were used for the intended purpose.

Dr Newton appealed to the citizenry to limit social contacts though it was not the normal cultural practice of Ghanaians adding, the world was not in normal times.
