Klefe (V/R), April 7, GNA – Reverend Richard Buamah, Acting Synod Clerk of the Ho East Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana Sunday stated that without sacrifice the desired transformation and development of Ghana would be a mirage.
He called on Ghanaians, especially Christians, to make worship and sacrifice a vital part of their daily lives.
Rev. Buamah, who is also the Klefe district Pastor of the Church, stated this in a sermon on the theme: “Building a new nation in Christ.”
He noted that Ghana like all other nations had its struggles of social injustices, corruption and divisions but if the citizens would let go the past failures and fix their eyes on Christ, they could transform it to a country of righteousness and justice.
Rev. Buamah said today many Christians were shying away from sacrificial giving of their time, resources and energy.
He reminded them that before they could fully embrace the new things of God, they should make the necessary sacrifices as members of God’s new nation.
“Building a new nation in Christ requires people who are committed to pressing forward spiritually, morally and socially,” he said.
The Acting Synod Clerk said a nation could not be transformed by mere policies but by people who knew God, feared and walked with Him.
He urged Christians to allow the Spirit and love of God to renew their hearts, adding “independence without Christ is slavery.”
Rev. Buamah entreated them to leave behind old habits like divisions and burdens that hold them bondage to the world.
He noted that their passion and national vision should be becoming like Christ, care about the poor, the vulnerable and the broken-hearted.
Rev. Buamah also urged them to move from greed, selfishness to love and compassion.
