Bankyease (W/R), April 1, GNA- Alhaji Mohammed Alhassan Tendera, the Chief Imam of Bankyease, a suburb of Sekondi, has urged Muslims to be at peace with people from different religious backgrounds to promote peaceful coexistence in the Country.
He made the call at the Eid prayers to climax this year’s Eid- al-Fitr celebration.
Alhaji Tendera said the Islamic belief centered on peace with people from all walks of life and different religious beliefs and urged Muslims to continue living in peace with everyone.
“Ourfounder and leader peached peace, therefore there is the need for us to walk in that same direction as instructed by the Holy Quran”, he said.
He added that both Christians and Muslims must see to it that peace and unity reigned in their households, communities and wherever they found themselves to promote economic stability.
Alhaji Tendera urged Muslims to desist from sin to avoid a destruction to their spiritual life and relationship with Allah, adding that it could delay answers to their supplications even though they had fasted and prayed.
“It is good to have all the fun and enjoy with family and friends but see to it that you do not go contrary to the word of Allah”, he noted.
The Imam reiterated the need for Muslims to extend alms to the less privileged in the society and live a holy life devoid of immorality.
Madam Ramatu Issaka, a participant at the prayer, said she was optimistic that Allah would answer all supplications laid before him during the fast and prayed peace continued to reign in Ghana.
Others encouraged Muslims to continue living a holy, pure and faithful lifestyle as that was the essence of embarking on the Ramadan fast.
Eid al-Fitr also known as ‘Festival of Breaking the Fast’ is an Islamic festival celebrated by Muslims across the globe as they reconnect with Allah as well as show love to fellow Muslims and people from other religious faith.
