Tema, April 07, GNA – Mr. Courage Nunekpeku, the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, has encouraged the youth to take challenges to improve their career prospects and contribute to the growth of their workplaces.
Mr. Nunekpeku, encouraging staff of the TDC during a staff durbar, charged them not to be afraid of responsibilities, take up challenges, and apply for positions when advertised.

“Don’t be timid thinking that I can’t do it; we are trained to solve problems in the built industry, so at every level don’t be afraid; take up responsibilities, he advised them.
He said: “Iin the Western world, you see a 27-year-old managing a whole multinational company; you see a young lady managing a huge financial institution. It is only in Africa that you must have a white beard and be old before being given such opportunities.”
Mr. Nunekpeku further asked the youth to challenge themselves, learn, and research a lot, especially now that they could have all the resources on their phone.
“Learn and research more; don’t be only on TikTok, WhatsApp and the rest. It will make you viable and become an asset. We can’t be here and go out to recruit people to fill positions,” he said.
He stressed that there was the need for them to think deeply and be creative and innovative, reminding them that even though they would make mistakes, they would improve upon them and become a better version of themselves.
The TDC MD added, “Whatever space you find yourself in, be innovative, and do the work well, whether as a cleaner, driver, or engineer. I am not saying go around challenging people unnecessarily; you will become a nuisance.
“Smartness is your brain.”
