Sunyani, (Bono), April 26, GNA –Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area has pledged to improve the operations of the Bono Regional Police Command in crime combat.
He promised to resource the command with logistics and machines including motorbikes for personnel to intensify patrols.
Odeefuor Ogyeamansan Korkor II gave the pledge in a statement issued after the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Yaw Tetega, the Bono Regional Police Commander and other officers of the command paid a courtesy on him in Sunyani.
The Regional Police Commander was accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) George Andrews Kumah, the Deputy Bono Regional Police Commander and ACP Delay Dzansi, the Sunyani Divisional Police Commander and other officers of the command.
“Their visit was to introduce the leadership of the police in the region to the Paramount Chief”, the statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated, quoting the command’s commitment to ensuring that personnel adhere to a high level of professionalism in the course of their duties.
It further quoted DCOP Tetega highlighting the need to maintain the prevailing peace of the Municipality and the region by extension.
Other discussions were mostly centered on the security situation in the Sunyani Municipality and other security related issues.
“The meeting concluded with mutual commitments to work together to address security challenges and foster a spirit of collaboration between the traditional leadership and the police command”, it added.
“It also marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the Bono Regional Police Command and the Sunyani Traditional Council, paving the way for on-going dialogue and cooperation”, the statement indicated.
