Sunyani Municipal Assembly approves Vincent Agyei as MCE

Sunyani, (Bono), April 10, GNA – Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, the President’s nominee was on Thursday confirmed as the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive. 
 
He secured an overwhelming 100 percent ‘yes’ votes from the 49-member assembly in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission in Sunyani. 
 
The assembly also elected Mr Abdul Razak Abdulai as its Presiding Member with 44 votes representing 86.2 percent. 
 
In his acceptance speech, Mr Agyei thanked the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work hard to justify it. 
 
Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, urged them to support the MCE in bringing the holistic development of the municipality to the next level. 
 
Mr Seid Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East said inclusivity in leadership was required to facilitate the development of the municipality, and urged the MCE to collaborate with all stakeholders, irrespective of their political affiliations for the purpose of development. 
 
Nana Kwaku Sarbeng Ababio, the Akwamuhene (sub-chief) and Acting President of the Sunyani Traditional Council stressed the need for the AMs to collaborate with the traditional authorities towards facilitating the development of the area. 
 
Justice Gabriel Martey-Teye, a Sunyani High Court Judge took the MCE through the oaths of office, allegiance, and secrecy.
