Some 1,467 candidates to write BECE examination in Kadjebi District

Kadjebi (O/R), April 15, GNA – Some 1,467 candidates, comprising of 765 males and 702 females in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, are set to take this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), scheduled for June 9 to June 16.

The 1,467 candidates are from 60 Junior High Schools (JHSs) including 51 public and nine private JHSs.

Mr Christopher Agorkle, the Kadjebi District Examination Officer, who disclosed this information to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview, said that the figure represents an increase of 168 candidates over the 2024 BECE candidates, which totaled 1,299, including 694 males and 605 females.

He noted that in 2023, 1,503 candidates, comprising 817 males and 686 females, were registered.

Mr Agorkle mentioned that the 1,467 candidates will take the examination at six examination centres.

They will start with Social Studies 2 (Essay) between 0900 hours and 1000 hours, followed by Social Studies 1 (Objective at 1000 hours and continue until 10:45 hours.

The Examination Officer added that the candidates would then write Computing 2 (Essay) from 1300 hours to 1415 hours and Computing 1 (Objective) from 1415 hours to 1500 hours. He concluded by stating that the examination would end on June 16 with Arabic.
