President Mahama commits to improve development in Zongo communities-Berekum East MP

Berekum, (Bono), April 1, GNA- Mr Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency in the Bono Region reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to improve development projects in the various Muslim communities nationwide. 

He said the government had prioritised and was working tirelessly to ensure that the socio-economic livelihoods of Muslims were enhanced, saying, the reduction of the hajj pilgrimage fare, and a development of hajj village reflected the government’s commitment to better the lives of Muslims. 

Mr Kyeremeh said the establishment of a Women Development Bank would also create opportunity for Muslim women traders to access soft loans to boost their economic activities. 

He was addressing hundreds of Muslims to mark the Ed-Ul-Fitr celebration at the Berekum Golden City Park on Monday. 

Mr Kyeremeh also pledged to create more job opportunities for the Muslim youth, and urged the Berekum Muslim community to continue to co-exist with other religious sects in the Municipality. 

That would strengthen the prevailing peace and promote the development of the municipality, the MP stated. 

Imam Abdul Suleman Wahab, the Berekum Municipal Chief Imam praised the Muslims for successfully going through the Ramadan fast and urged them to show love and care and strictly obey the tenet of Islam.
