Dambai (O/R), April 18, GNA- Oti Regional Minister John Kwadwo Gyapong has met with staff of the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC) to discuss ways to enhance performance and accelerate development in the region.
The meeting enabled the Regional Minister to familiarise himself with the workers, and address concerns to improve productivity.
The Minister expressed concern about heads of departments accepting permissions from subordinates without approval from the Chief Director’s office.
The Minister directed management to give a query to staff who failed to attend the durbar without valid reasons.
Mr. Gyapong admonished staff to reassess themselves and resume their work properly before disciplinary actions are taken.
Many of the ORCC staff who were engaged by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), expressed their concerns and grievances, highlighting the need for improved working conditions and recognition.
According to the staff, they feel undervalued and unappreciated due to the lack of motivation and recognition throughout the year.
Many of them revealed that they are not adequately motivated to perform their duties effectively, leading to low morale and decreased productivity.
After listening to the staff concerns, the minister assured them of his commitment to transform the region and encouraged the workers to speak up and report issues affecting productivity and well-being.
He emphasized the importance of creating a conducive work environment and recognizing staff contributions to boost morale and productivity.
He also pledged to work with the council’s management to implement measures that would motivate and reward staff for their hard work.
During the meeting, the Minister made a heartfelt appeal to benevolent organisations to support the newly created Oti Region in its quest for rapid development.
