Jinijini, (Bono), April 1, GNA – Madam Adiza Gyengyenaa, the Berekum District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has cautioned students against ‘sport betting’ and gambling-related games.
She reminded them that ‘short-cut to success is very dangerous’ and instead challenged them to concentrate and learn their books and to build a better future for themselves.
Mad Gyengynenaa gave the advice when speaking at a quiz competition the commission organised for some selected basic schools in the District at Jinijini aimed at enhancing their knowledge about the 1992 constitution.
She also cautioned the female students against pre-marital sexual practices that could truncate their education and ruin their future, urging them to learn hard to achieve high academic laurels.
Mad Gyengyenaa explained that the competition was an initiative and a strategy by the commission to inspire the students to the 1992 constitution.
Mad Cynthia Anima, the Bono Regional Director of the NCCE used the opportunity to sensitize the students on environmental sustainability and urged them to avoid attitudes that were unfriendly to the environment.
The St Lucky Junior High School (JHS) emerged winners of the competition with 72 points, followed by the Roman Catholic JHS, 71 points, Presbyterian JHS 69 points, and Methodist JHS 69 points in that order.
