Enchi (W/R), April 9, GNA – Nana Tano Kabbah II, Chief of Enchi Kwahu and Akwamuhene of the Aowin Traditional Council, has launched a 1,000-seat capacity auditorium for Enchi College of Education in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region.
The auditorium, when completed, would comprise, a 1,000-seat capacity, 10 offices, 20 washrooms, and four storage facilities.
The project is estimated at the cost of GH¢ 10,000,000.00 and expected to be completed within 18 months.
Nana Kabbah II, who chaired the launch said promoting quality education in his traditional area remained his topmost priority.
“I will continue to channel most of my resources into educational infrastructure development,” Nana Kabbah stressed.
Dr. Emmanuel Adom Ashun, Acting Principal for Enchi College of Education said: “The college has suffered from infrastructure deficit since its establishment. Currently, we use the dining hall as a multipurpose facility, as a dining hall and our auditorium hence the urgent need for the project.”
Dr Ashun, also made a passionate appeal to the old student year groups, students, philanthropist, Non-Governmental Organizations, stakeholders, and the government to come to their aid with bags of cement and other building materials to bring the vision to light.

He further indicated some success chalked since January this year and this included the procurement of 65 KVA power plant to replace the one being used since 1991.
Again, they have procured pavement moulding machines to enable the college paved all its walkways because staff and students suffer walking through the mud during the rainy season.
“Despite limited resources, the institution utilized its Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to procure all these,” he stated
The event was attended by personnel from the Municipal Education Directorate, faculty members, students, old students, and the clergy.
