Tema, April 14, GNA – Some lottery stakers in Tema Community One have advised the youth not to use lottery as their main source of income as it is a game of chance.
They said it should be considered as a secondary source of income and, people should get their primary source of income instead of depending on the lottery for their livelihood.
According to them, the lottery was a fair game, and there was no best strategy for winning the lottery as it was all about luck and chances.
Mr. Raphael Asiedu, a bartender, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he was motivated to play the lottery for various reasons, including the hope of financial security, the excitement of the game, and the chance of a life-changing win.
He added that many players were aware of the low odds of winning but still felt optimistic about their chances, which could lead to continued participation despite the low chances of winning.
Mr. Osmond Arhin, a Tailor, said the hopes and dreams of lottery revolved around achieving financial freedom, which helped family and friends and the fulfillment of personal aspirations.
Mr. John Mba, a lottery agent, said that lottery winnings could have a profound impact on individuals and families, providing financial relief and opportunities, but they could also lead to challenges such as the mismanagement of newfound wealth.
Mr. Mba explained that the lottery was regulated by government agencies to ensure fairness and transparency, with measures in place to audit operations and monitor game integrity.
He emphasised that the odds of winning the lottery were extremely low, which could lead to misconceptions about the likelihood of winning and encourage continued participation despite the risks.
