Sunyani, (Bono), April 07, GNA – Alhaji Baba Alhassan Watara, the Chief of the Sunyani Wangara Community has warned the Muslim youth against abominable sexual practices of the LGBTQ+.
Describing the LGBTQ+ as abnormal and an abomination to Islam, he said those who engaged in that sexual perversion would never escape judgment and Allah’s wrath, if they failed to repent and change.
Alhaji Watara gave the warning when speaking at a durbar to climax the celebration of the Kurubi Festival of the Chiefs and people of the Wangaras in Sunyani.
The festival brought together the Wangaras from all walks of life and also offered an opportunity for men to choose their wives as demanded by their tradition and culture.
Nana Yusif Fanyinama III, the National Wangara Chief, and the Acting President of the National Council of Zongo Chiefs, explained that the “festival combines culture and traditions in developing the Zongo communities.
“Kurubi is an Arabic word which means ‘brighteners before Allah’ celebrated immediately after the Ramadan fast demonstrate our commitment to remain holy, obedient and pure servants of Allah.”
Nana Fanyinama said the festival remains non-partisan.
