Kadjebi (O/R), April 14, GNA – The Kadjebi District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has provided orientation for eighty-eight newly posted teachers to the district.

The training aims to educate teachers on the dos and don’ts of the service, conditions of service, students’ welfare, salary related-issues, promotion, upgrading, and more.

Mr. Nutifafa Agbozo, the Human Resource (HR) Officer of Kadjebi GES, speaking at the programme, urged the teachers to help their students learn by imparting knowledge and creating an environment where students can and will learn effectively.

He charged them to consider the students as their first “customers,” as they are being paid because of them.

Mr. Agbozo also advised them to engage with the community in which they are posted, as their success or failure would depend on those relationships.

Mr. Michael Agbeko, an Integrated Personal and Payroll Database (IPPD) Officer, urged the teachers to be punctual to school, avoid truancy, and seek permission from the appropriate authorities.

Mr. Agbeko, who spoke on promotion, upgrading, vacation of post, and change of bank details, emphasized that any misconduct could lead to the stoppage of their salaries, so these actions must be avoided.

Madam Emma Zottor Asilevi, the Girl-Child Education Officer, advised the teachers to treat girl children with care.

She stated that any inappropriate relations with them would not be tolerated, as such actions could ruin the future of the girl-child.

Ninety-six newly posted teachers, including 91 from the Colleges of Education and five from the Universities were expected to attend the orientation, but only 88 showed up.
