Jaman South Municipal Assembly accepts President Nominee

Drobo (Bono), April 09, GNA – The 57-Member Assembly has endorsed Madam Siata Watara, the President nominee as the Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive in the Bono Region.

The President nominee received an overwhelming endorsement from the Assembly Members, securing 55 ‘yes’ votes in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission at Drobo, the Municipal capital.

In her acceptance speech, Madam Watara said she remained focused to push sustainable development, pledging to collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve her vision for the municipality of creating more jobs and enhancing the socio-economic livelihoods of the people.

She said she had prioritised improved security, education, and agriculture, and pledged to promote transparency and accountability as well as gender equality, equity and inclusivity in decision-making processes.

Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, said he was confident in the MCE and asked her not to disappoint the President and the nation in her service. Justice Gabriel Martey-Teye, a high court Judge in Sunyani later took the MCE through the oaths of office, allegiance, and secrecy.
