Investing in the Future and Education: Zenith Bank refurbishes six-classroom block 

Accra, April 14, GNA – Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited has handed over a refurbished six-classroom block and newly constructed modern four-unit toilet facility to the school administration of Odumase M/A Basic School ‘4’ in Odumase in the Ga West municipality. 

In addition, the Bank has supplied new desks, tables, cupboards, and learning materials to improve the learning and teaching environment for both students and teachers. 

Staff of the Bank, in 2015, adopted and renovated Odumase M/A Basic School ‘4’ as a corporate social responsibility initiative. 

Since then, the Bank has consistently carried out refurbishments to maintain the school’s infrastructure. 

The latest developments are a commitment made at the Bank’s 19th anniversary celebration last year, reaffirming its ongoing support for educational advancement. 

Madam Cynthia Amerley Amarteifio, the Group Head of Marketing for Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited, speaking on behalf of the MD/CEO of Zenith Bank, highlighted the Bank’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship. 

“Since our commencement of banking operations in 2005, Zenith Bank has undertaken initiatives in health, education, ICT, human capital development and youth empowerment in fulfilment of the Bank’s mission of investing in the best people, technology and environment and to ensure the long-term growth and success of our communities,” she said Madam Amarteifio emphasized that the commissioning of the refurbished school block exemplified the Bank’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and improving educational outcomes for future generations.  

“Through initiatives such as the refurbishment of Odumase M/A Basic School ‘4’, Zenith Bank aims to create an environment where learning thrives and future generations can grow,” she said. 

Ms. Linda Offeibea Larbi, the Headmistress of the school, expressed deep gratitude to Zenith Bank for the initiative, noting that it had significantly contributed to creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils and improved learning. 

“We are incredibly grateful to Zenith Bank for the unwavering commitment to education and creating an environment that encourages learning and growth. This is not just a building – it represents hope and a promise for a better future for our children,” she said. 

Ms. Larbi commended Zenith Bank’s leadership, for the vision in supporting education in the Odumase community, adding that the continuous contribution of the Bank to the development of the school will have a lasting impact on generations to come.  

“It is through partnerships like this, that we are able to realise our dreams of creating a more conducive learning environment for our learners,” she said. 

Ms. Larbi pledged to ensure the continued upkeep and maintenance of the school and the toilet facility, to ensure they remain a resource for future generations. 

Mr. Victor Noye Tawiah, the Municipal Director of Education for Ga West, remarked that Zenith Bank’s gesture represented a valuable investment in the future of the children, emphasizing that this contribution will have a positive impact on the wider community. 

“This refurbished facility will inspire hope and challenge the children to be excellent and achieve all their dreams,” he added. 

The event was attended by teachers of the school, members of the Ga West Education Directorate, the Assembly Member for Odumase and representatives of the Ga Odumase stool. 

Zenith Bank’s ongoing efforts at Odumase M/A Basic School ‘4’ align with the Bank’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), which advocates for inclusive and equitable quality education, and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
