GPL Wk26: Hearts of Oak back to winning ways as Lions hold Kotoko

Accra, April 06, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak snapped their four-game winless run after defeating Medeama 1-0 in a matchday 26 encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Raphael Amponsah’s long-range stunner was enough to secure all three points for the Phobians, who moved to third position in the league.

The Phobians have now accumulated 43 points and are just four points off league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.

Asante Kotoko picked a point against Heart of Lions at the Kpando Stadium on Sunday.

Justice Blay opened the scoring for Kotoko on the brink of half-time, but Fawzi Ali’s 67th goal ensured points were shared at the end of the match.

The Porcupine Warriors stayed second with 46 points and just a point behind Bibiani Gold Stars, who lost 2-0 against Dreams FC.

Basake Holy Stars, who lost three consecutive times, finally got back to winning ways after edging Berekum Chelsea.

FC Samartex 1996 extended their impressive home run after defeating Accra Lions 2-0 at Nsenkyire Sports Arena.  

Emmanuel Mammah and Akwasi Sarpong were on target for the Timber giants, who deepened the woes of relegation-threatened Heart of Lions.
