Kasoa (C/R), April 22, GNA – Mr Kwaku Preko, The CEO of Muuston Beach Resort, has called for government’s support to enhance the hospitality industry, particularly the beach tourism sector.
He made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agencey (GNA) during this year’s Easter Monday celebrations.
Mr Preko stated that beaches in Ghana, were well patronised during festive occasions such as Easter Mondays, New Year celebrations and other public holidays.
“However, beaches are not solely for holidays but can be enjoyed any day, especially on weekends, Mr Preko said.
He said this would help businesses to recoup the investment made to allay the fears of some industry players and urge them on, to work to help the beach tourism sector to boom.
Numerous beaches along the Kokrobite stretch in the Greater Accra Region, had seen substantial investments to enhance visitors’ experiences and urged the government to take a keen interest in the hospitality sector, particularly beach tourism.
He also lamented that poor road infrastructure and inadequate lighting systems were major factors hindering the development of beach tourism in the area, hence the appeal for support of government in that direction.
Thousands of revellers thronged the beaches along the coast of Oshiyie, Bortianor, and Kokrobite as part of this year’s holiday season celebrations.
