Goaso (Ahafo), April 04, GNA – The Goaso Circuit of the Methodist Diocese in the Ahafo Region has ended a special summit organised for the young people of the diocese.

Dubbed “Young people service and students’ summit,” the participants were taken through educational programmes including basic financial management and life principles.

The Very Reverend Dr Emmanuel Kumi-Amoah, the Superintendent Minister of the Goaso Circuit reminded the young people that without principles and good morals there was no way they could have breakthrough in life.

He urged them to take inspiration from Genesis 41:46 of the biblical life of Joseph, encouraging them to uphold good moral values and life principles and endeavour to build and strengthen personal relationships with God.

Dr Kumi-Amoah emphasised that with respect and service to humanity, integrity and hard work the youth could grow to become responsible adults and occupy enviable positions in society.

He advised Ghanaians to discard the notion that, “life begins at 40,” instead, they must work hard to make the best of their time on earth.

Sharing his life experiences, Mr Samuel Badu Baiden, the Asutifi North District Coordinating Director, told the young people that “human efforts backed by divine power bring life success”.

He said with determination everybody could uphold a high sense of integrity, urging them to make the “effort required of us and leave the rest to God”.

Mr Joshua Yaboh, the Head of Marketing and Finance at Nananom FM, a Goaso-based radio station took the participants through financial management and urged them to plan their life well and adopt the culture of savings.

Mr Yaboh, also the Steward for the Goaso Wesley Methodist Cathedral, said with savings, the youth would become financially independent in future and cautioned them against sport betting and gambling-related games.

Those activities, he added, were not only immoral, but also unproductive investments that could ruin their future.

First of its kind and a novelty of the circuit, the summit, facilitated by the Rev Douglas Biney, the Circuit Minister, and Mr Richard Amoah, the Circuit Youth Organiser (CYO) was attended by about 300 young people from various societies of the circuit including the Wesley, Emmanuel, Bethel and Mt Olive cathedrals.

Other participants were drawn from Ayomso, Dekyem, Adomako, Asuadei, Msema and Gyasikrom.
