Kumasi April 03, GNA – The Suudu Baba Foundation, a non-government organisation (NGO) dedicated to improving the lives of Fulbe communities, has inaugurated an advocacy group exclusively for Fulani women in the Ashanti Region.
The group aims to provide a safe space for Fulani women to discuss issues affecting them, share experiences, and support one another.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Amir Usman Bin Ahmed, Ashanti Regional Fulani Chief, said the initiative was inspired by global best practices, which demonstrated that united communities could drive positive change.
“The essence of this advocacy group is to create a support network for Fulbe women on everyday issues that impact their lives,” he added.
The group hopes to empower Fulani women in areas such as education, entrepreneurship, and social development.
The advocacy group is an outcome of the Fulbe Girl Child Education project, a collaborative effort between Suudu Baaba Foundation and STAR Ghana Foundation.
The project seeks to empower Fulbe communities through education and economic development.
As part of the initiative, the Foundation will conduct community outreach sessions in the Northern, Bono East, and Ashanti Regions to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education among Fulani communities.
