Ho, April 07, GNA – Mavis Agbo, a15-year-old Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Candidate, who hails from Takla-Tokor in the Ho Municipal area, is in dire need of GHC413,869.00 to undergo treatment for scoliosis – a spinal condition.
She also needs about GHC70,000 for medication and other auxiliary costs after the treatment.
Mr. Edem Wisdom Nkornoo, a teacher of the girl, who raised GHC5,000 for the treatment, said the condition began when Ms. Agbo was in Primary Six.
He said in February, this year, they took Ms. Agbo to the Ho Teaching Hospital, where she was referred to the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital in Accra.
Mr. Nkornoo said the girl’s parents, farmers, were only able to raise GHC500 and that the condition was affecting the girl’s preparation for the BECE.
He appealed to individuals and corporate institutions to come to her aid.

Mavis narrated to the Ghana News Agency how the medical situation was shuttering her of becoming a doctor but must first clear her BECE, pleading for a touch of hearts to save her.
