Enchi (WN/R), April 23, GNA – Thirteen babies were delivered at the Enchi Government Hospital in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region during the Easter festivities.
Madam Nancy Yaa Anima, a midwife on duty at the maternity unit of the facility, told the Ghana News Agency that, the babies were made up of ten females and three males.
She explained that eight of the babies were born through caesarean section, while the remaining five were normal deliveries.
On Good Friday three females and a male were born at the hospital, and on Holy Saturday three females and a male were also delivered.
Madam Anima added that on Easter Sunday, they recorded four births, comprising three females and a male and on Easter Monday a baby girl was delivered.
She said all the thirteen babies and their mothers were in good condition and they have been discharged.
She noted that despite the continuous nutritional education offered by the maternity unit of the hospital, anaemia remained prevalent among pregnant women.
“Eating a balance diet is key for pregnant women, as it supports the baby’s growth and well-being” Madam Anima advised.
