Easter: GEC Congregants Sing Joyfully in Celebration of Christ’s Victory

Ho, April 20, GNA – Bliss filled the Ebenezer Chapel of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), Mawuli Estate, Ho, as congregants marked the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Sunday with drumming, singing, and dancing.

Most of the worshippers, dressed in white, black-and-white, and other colorful attire, sang joyful hymns and danced to the glory of God.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ, a foundational Christian belief, commemorates God raising Jesus from the dead on the third day after His crucifixion, restoring His exalted life as Christ and Lord.

The service was held under the theme: “Risen Lord, Preach the Word.”

Reverend Godsway Sodzi, the Parish Pastor, said, “The resurrection of Jesus Christ has brought us more than just a day to celebrate; rather, it has brought access to the throne room of grace.”

He explained that the resurrection quickened the mortal bodies of Christians, signifying that the same spirit which raised Christ from the dead was alive in them.

“You are not ordinary. Your body may be weak, but your spirit is alive, energized, and victorious,” he said.

Amidst murmurs of “Amen” and “Hallelujah,” Reverend Sodzi affirmed that whatever was dead in their lives had been given life again.
