Accra, April 20, GNA – The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) has launched its newly developed digital platform to empower young people across member states.
The platform launched at the Commonwealth Youth Leaders’ Summit held in London was hailed as a “digital home for Commonwealth youth.”
It marked a significant stride in connecting, engaging, and amplifying the voices of young people from all 56 member states.
The platform, designed by a youth, for the youth across the member states, was built on the core values of inclusivity, accessibility, and innovation.
At the helm of this achievement was Madam Debora Adwoa Nti, Digital Projects Lead, CYC, whose dynamic leadership and unwavering commitment to digital equity brought the vision to life.
She said the platform was a digital home where every young person in the Commonwealth could see themselves represented, heard, and supported.
Madam Nti said the space was built to reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the youth while championing equity in digital engagement.
She reiterated that the the launch marked a significant step forward in strengthening digital access, visibility, and collaboration between youth-led organisations, stakeholders, and decision-makers across the 56 Commonwealth member states.
She said it also underscored the need to modernise the Council’s digital infrastructure and ensuring that no young person regardless of geography, background, or circumstance, was left behind.
“True to the principle of ‘nothing for us without us’ reaffirms that youth must not only be included, they must lead,” she added.
The event brought together dignitaries and changemakers, including Right. Hon. Patricia Scotland KC, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, and Mr. Layne Robinson, Head of Social Policy Development.
It also brought together Madam Tessa Sanderson CBE, Olympic gold medallist and philanthropist, youth leaders, development partners, and civil society representatives to celebrate the growing impact of youth voices in shaping inclusive and resilient societies.
