Jinijini, (Bono), April 05, GNA – The 27-member Assembly has endorsed the President Nominee, Mr Collins Asomah as the Berekum West District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Bono Region.

The President Nominee received 100 per cent of the Assembly in an election conducted and supervised by the officials of the Electoral Commission held at Jinijini, the District capital.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Asomah said his overwhelming confirmation reflected the Assembly’s readiness to push-forward the holistic development of the district and thanked the Assembly Members (AMs) for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work selflessly and in humility.

He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for giving him the opportunity to serve in his government and thanked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) too.

Mr Asomah said with peace and unity the development of the district could be brought to the next level and pledged his readiness to work with all stakeholders including the traditional authorities and the AMs irrespective of their backgrounds.

He urged the people to bury their political differences, forge ahead in unity, eschew partisan politics and help tackle the emerging development needs of the people.

Mr Joseph Addai Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, congratulated the DCE, urging him to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people and to facilitate the development of the area.
