Accra, April 06, GNA – Jennifer Cudjoe, Deputy Captain of the Black Queens, has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the team as they step up preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ghana is expected to face the Teranga Lionesses in back-to-back games with hopes of beginning their campaign with an impressive result.
The DC Power FC midfielder speaking ahead of the first leg encounter said the team was gingered for glory going into the continental showpiece this time round.
“Expectations are always going to be there, and we just hope that you guys keep supporting us and believe in us.
Every game that we play is a challenge to learn from each other and grow so we want them to know that we want to win but no matter what happens we are learning, and we want to grow so hopefully they should grow with us”
She said fans played crucial roles in psyching players on the field of play, hence the need to back the team as they prepare for the battle ahead.
The 31-year-old midfielder added that her side would approach the game with all seriousness despite holding earlier records against their opponents.
Newly appointed Black Queens Coach. Kim Lars Björkegren, will use this opportunity to assess and expand his pool of players ahead of the WAFCON.
