Keta (VR), April 11, GNA – Assembly Members in the Keta Municipality of the Volta region have unanimously endorsed Mr. Wisdom Bondieu Seade, the assembly member of Anyako Electoral Area and Keta NDC constituency Chair, as the next Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.
The 32 assembly members, which include 22 elected and 10 government appointees have massively voted yes for the endorsement of the nominee which represented their 100 per cent confirmation.
The confirmation means the nominee secured more than the two-third yes votes required to receive the nod as the MCE to spearhead the area’s development projects.
Mr. Seade, in his victory speech, thanked President John Dramani, Mr. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe, the Member of Parliament for Keta, chiefs, the public and the assembly members for the support and the opportunity that would enable the assembly to restructure and reset better developmental agendas.
I am grateful for the confirmed Municipal Chief Executive of our great Municipality of Keta. If l had ten thousand tongues it would not be enough to thank the Lord for how far he has brought us,” he said.
Mr. Seade said the overwhelming endorsement indicated the great solidarity for all to foster consensus building and effective collaboration in various discussions to engender accelerated development of the entire Keta municipal assembly.
He explained that the phrase ‘Reset’ was deep and broad but unambiguous, and for it to take effect in human institutions such as Keta municipality, it must commence from the change in the mindset and positive attitude of individuals towards work which would automatically flash out laxity and stimulate efficiency for the system to function effectively.
“It is refreshing and empowering to have one of us elevated to the position of Municipal Chief Executive, but it equally bestowed on us the responsibility to remain united and work collectively to affect the lives of our people.”
Mr. Seade pledged that he would launch the “Keta Municipal Development Dialogue” in the first hundred days in office which would aim at engaging broader categories of stakeholders as well as serve as a platform for discussion of issues pertaining to development of Keta’s development agenda for improvements and progress.
Mr. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, who also witnessed the exercise, in his remarks expressed excitement about the massive supports by the assembly members and described the move as a moment of unity and shared purpose for the President’s nominee who received overwhelming confirmation as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta.
He said that “I am proud of the peaceful and transparent process that led to this outcome. Congratulations to Mr. Seade as he begins this important journey of service and development for the good people of Keta. Let’s rally behind him to move the municipality forward.”
He said Keta is the root of National Democratic Congress (NDC) and 100 per cent endorsement has confirmed the beginning of better development, progress, resetting agenda, as well as the monthly salary policy by President Mahama to assembly members.
Some assembly members who spoke to Ghana News Agency, were satisfied with the outcome of the exercise, and pledged full support for Mr. Wisdom Bondieu Seade to champion restructuring and resetting development agenda of Keta in the areas such as education, sports, agriculture, health, infrastructure, among others.
They appealed to corporate entities, philanthropists, businesses, tourists, and other development agencies to patronage the area for better collaboration that would enrich and uplift the standard of Keta municipality for the benefit of all.
