Berekum, (Bono), April 14, GNA – The ‘1997 Year Group’ of the Yiadom Boakye Demonstration ‘C’ Basic School in the Berekum Municipality on Monday presented two smart coloured-television sets to the school.

The group presented the TV sets to the kindergarten to sustain the interest of the pupils in school and aid them to learn and understand better.

Mr Ahmed Nana Nketia, the leader of the group said contemporary teaching and learning methods went beyond the ‘traditional chalkboard instruction,’ saying the TVs would enable the pupils to learn and understand what they were being taught.

“When children watched what they were being taught it aided their understanding better,” he stated, saying “watching videos is part of the learning process now.”

Mr Nketiah said the group was commitment to improve the academic environment and thereby make learning more easily and comfortable for the school children and called on other past students to also contribute their quota towards the growth and development of the school.

Mr Maxwell Owusu Acheaw, the Headmaster of the School, thanked the group and promised to ensure that the machines were used for their intended purposes, saying the gift would aid the pupils in learning phonetics and other essential skills and facilitate deeper understanding of the subjects.
