Ho, March 29, GNA- Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, has commended the outgoing Volta Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Andrews Boadu-Ekumah for exhibiting high level of professionalism during his tenure.
He said the Commander served the region beyond measure with dedication and integrity, and never sacrificed professionalism for materials things nor showed any political colour in the discharge of his duties.
Mr Gunu gave the commendation during a send off party organised by the Volta Regional Police Command in honour of the Commander.
DCOP Boadu-Ekumah will bow out of the Service on April 5, 2025, after serving over 30 years with commitment, integrity and high level of professionalism, and he will leave an indelible mark on the Service.
Mr Gunu, on behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council and the Regional Security Council, congratulated the Commander for his service to the country.
The Minister, who worked closely with DCOP Boadu-Ekumah as the National Democratic Congress’ Regional Secretary, said the Commander had distinguished himself and brought policing to another level in the region.
Mr Gunu urged the incoming Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr Wisdom Akorli and other officers to emulate the outgoing Commander’s exemplary posture.
The Minister assured ACP Akorli of the Regional Coordinating Council’s support in executing his duties.
DCOP Boadu-Ekumah described his journey in the Police Service as long and rough, and he was grateful to the almighty God and all who mentored, supported and encouraged him throughout the journey.
He said he was ready to offer support to any process that would further advance the progress of the Regional Police Command, noting that the experience as the Regional Commander was rewarding.

DCOP Boadu-Ekumah urged the personnel of the Service to own the Service and help build a better Ghana and be guided by the principles of fairness, integrity and professionalism.
Togbe Kasa III, Divisional Chief of Ho-Ahoe, who chaired the programme, acknowledged the dedication, leadership and commitment of DCOP Boadu-Ekumah during his tenure as the Commander.
He said the Commander led with integrity, professionalism and a deep sense of duty, and that his mentorship had shaped many police officers in the region, and curbed many criminal activities in the region, especially Ho, the regional capital.
