Residents of the Upper East Region have called on President John Dramani Mahama to take urgent and drastic measures to bring lasting peace to Bawku.
They made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga ahead of the President’s visit to the region as part of his nationwide “Thank You” tour.

All is set at the Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga for the visit of President John Dramani Mahama to the Upper East Region.
The President is visiting the region to thank you the chiefs and residents for their endorsement in the December 2024 elections.
President John Dramani Mahama will visit the Upper East Region today, Thursday, March 20, 2025, as part of his nationwide “Thank You” tour following his victory in the December 7, 2024 elections.
The President is expected address a durbar of chiefs and people at the Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga, to expressed his gratitude for their support and reiterate his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises to the region.
