UG School of Law Moot Court team presents National Championship trophy to Vice-Chancellor after stellar performance

Accra, Mar 17, GNA – The University of Ghana School of Law (UGSoL) Moot Court and Advocacy Team, which emerged as national champions at the 2025 Templars Jessup Ghana Moot Competition, has presented the trophy and medals to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo.

The team was accompanied by Dr. Kweku Ainuson, Dr. Justice Srem Sai, and Mr. Augustine Kidisil, all faculty members.

The UGSoL team achieved a spectacular victory over the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), maintaining a flawless record of four wins and zero losses.

In addition to being crowned national champions, UGSoL secured three prestigious awards: Best Respondent Memorial, Best Overall Memorial, and Second Best Overall Oralist.

The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the team and the Faculty for their hard work and remarkable achievement. “I am delighted to see that the growth of UGSoL has not at the expense of quality. We are proud of you and what you have achieved. We expect a lot more from you. Rest assured that we are with you,” she said.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Awandare, encouraged the team to continue striving for excellence. “You have taken upon yourselves the challenge of setting a benchmark; you need to keep winning,” he said.

On behalf of the team, Mr. Bernard Mwinyele Banoenumah pledged to intensify their efforts in preparation for the international competition, vowing to bring home the coveted championship title.

The presentation was attended by Prof. Gordon Akanzuwine Awandare, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Mrs. Emelia Adjei Mensah, the Registrar.

Also present were Mrs. Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, the Director of Academic Affairs, and Madam Pascaline Kuunzungla Songsore, Senior Assistant Registrar at the Documentation and Information Unit of the Public Affairs Directorate.

The UGSoL team comprised Bernard Mwinyele Banoenumah, Elsie Eyram Akubia, Ann Aseye Donya, Andy Nyarko Asare, and Freda Elinam Ganu. Liz Fafa Logan and Sarah Anane also supported the team as Faculty advisors.
