Twifo Praso (C/R), Mar.21, GNA- Twifo Praso Senior High School in the Twifo Atti Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region is grappling with some infrastructural and logistics challenges which is undermining the academic performance of the school.
Mr Daniel Aidoo, headmaster of the school told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Twifo Praso that one of the pressing concerns was the absence of a school bus which sometimes compels the school’s administration to rely on a commercial vehicle for field trips and other activities.
The headmaster said the hired bus was mostly overloaded and was unsafe for students to use them for such trips.
Furthermore, he noted that the computers in the laboratory were woefully inadequate with increasing number of students offering ICT as elective.
Another challenge faced, was the lack of a duty vehicle for the headmaster which was making his supervisory and monitoring activities within the school and surrounding communities difficult.
This limitation he noted, hindered his effectiveness in performing his duties and affecting the overall management of the school.
Again, he said the school needed an additional borehole to augment the existing ones, due to the increasing population of the school.
Mr Aidoo therefore appealed to the government, parents, philanthropists, and other stakeholders to assist in addressing the situation.
Twifo Praso Senior High School was established in the year 1981 as co- educational institution with a student enrolment of 74 but now has a population of 2569.
