Binduri (U/E), March 24, GNA – Three persons have reportedly lost their lives in a sporadic shooting in Binduri in the Upper East Region.
Three others are also reported to have sustained varying degrees of injuries because of the attack that was carried out by unknown armed men.
According to an eyewitness account, the incident occurred in the late hours of Sunday, March 23, 2025.
Sources told the Ghana News Agency that the attackers stormed a drinking spot in Binduri and opened fire on the occupants who spared off.
However, three reportedly died instantly while the others sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Sources within the security agencies say the motive behind the attack was unclear and have launched an investigation into the issue.
This attack adds to two in the area within the space of one week.
It would be recalled that on Monday, March 17, 2025, two persons were killed at Atuba market in the Binduri District in a similar shooting incident by unknown gunmen.
The recent development is creating fear and panic among residents who are calling on the government and security agencies to strengthen security surveillance to prevent future occurrences.
