Assin Krofofordo (C/R), March 18, GNA – The Assin North District Education Directorate the Central Region has benefitted from assorted textbooks to be distributed to some basic schools to enhance education in the Area.
Ecom Ghana Field, a licensed Cocoa Buying Company in Assin Bereku donated the books which included English and Science textbooks for basic one to six students.
The beneficiary schools which will have 120 textbooks each, are Krofofordo, Afenanane and Twananka Basic Schools.
Presenting the books, Mr James Appiah, field officer of the Company said the donation formed part of its corporate social responsibility and served as a reminder to residents that education was a powerful tool in the fight against child labour.
He said the Company would continue to support education in the district and provide resources to schools in dire need of textbooks so that the Ghanaian child would have a brighter future.

He charged the students to read the books and take very good care of them to prolong their life span.
Mrs Grace Ocran, Public Relations Officer of the Education Directorate who received the books on behalf of the Directorate was grateful to Ecom Ghana Field for the gesture.
She advised teachers to continue to assist students during reading to enable them to identify and pronounce words accurately.
Ms Esther Osei, beneficiary at Krofofordo Basic School expressed gratitude to Ecom Ghana Field, saying she would read the books for more knowledge.
