STMA to reallocate unoccupied spaces in Takoradi market

By Gladys Abakah

Takoradi, March 25, GNA – The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has asked traders who have abandoned their stores, stalls, spaces or selling sites in the Takoradi temporary market to resume operations on or before Monday March 31, 2025.

According to the Assembly, it had observed that several trading spaces in the Takoradi temporary market closed to the Ahenfie Hotel area had remained unoccupied denying other traders the opportunity to utilise the space.

A statement signed by the Assembly’s Management and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said in line with the Assembly’s Bye-Law on “Control of Markets, 2017”, traders who failed to occupy their designated spaces after the deadline would automatically lose ownership rights and their spaces reallocated to other interested traders.

The Assembly, therefore, urged all affected traders to take the notice seriously and act promptly to avoid any inconvenience.
