Bodi (WN/R), March 16, GNA – The Sefwi Bodi Calvary Methodist Church in the Afere Circuit of the Sefwi Bekwai Diocese has climaxed its 50th anniversary celebration with a thanksgiving service.
It was on the theme: “Ebenezer, Thus far has the Lord brought us (1 Samuel 7:12)”.
The Right Reverend John Kwasi Baidoo, the Diocesan Bishop of the Bekwai Diocese of the Methodist Church, during the service urged Christians especially members of the Methodist Church to live in harmony and as a family in Christ.
He said the 50 years anniversary celebration served as a reminder that the church had not come this far by its strength, but by the unwavering hand of God.
He said: “Ebenezer, thus far has the Lord brought us. This milestone is not a celebration of longevity but a testimony of grace and guidance.”
Rt. Rev. Baidoo continued: “The Christian Journey is not over but rather the 50 years has laid a solid foundation and now we must build upon it with a renewed commitment to discipleship, service and spiritual growth.”
He said just as Samuel called the people of Israel to renew their covenant with God, the 50 years Anniversary called on the members of Calvary Society to rededicate themselves to the work of God.

Rev. Kingsley Frimpong Tandoh, the Reverend Minister in charge of Sefwi Bodi Calvary Methodist Church, called on his members to remain committed to God’s work and forge ahead to achieve another 50-year milestone.
He said the Calvary Methodist’s strength lied on evangelism and that the members should remind committed to that by winning more souls for the church.
The 50 years Anniversary celebration brought together all the past Rev. Ministers of Sefwi Bodi Calvary Methodist Church, the Superintendent Minister for the Afere Circuit of the Methodist Church, Rev Ministers from other societies of the Methodist Church in the Bekwai Diocese, and other dignitaries.
Some leaders that had served in various capacities in the Calvary Methodist Church for the past years were also awarded.
The month-long celebration was characterised by some activities like float, love feast, clean-up exercise, indoor games and evangelism among others.
