Adidome (V/R), March 27, GNA – Residents of the Central Tongu district have commended President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Mr Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.

The appointment of the Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress is seen as a strategic move to boost development and socioeconomic growth in the district.

They told the Ghana News Agency that Mr Mornyuie’s appointment was a welcoming development, as he was known for having their interests at heart and hoped that he would continue to perform creditably.

They urged the Assembly Members in the district to unanimously approve of Mr Mornyuie’s appointment, paving the way for developmental projects to commence.

Mr Emmanuel Kpornyo, a resident, emphasised the need for Mr Mornyuie to bring about positive change, saying, “We expect more from him. He should not fall in line with his predecessors. Central Tongu must rise again.”

Some residents also appealed to Mr Mornyuie to prioritise key areas such as agriculture, education, health, and the private sector, which were crucial to the district’s growth and development.
