Accra, March 17, GNA – The Reach for Change Ghana, a non-governmental organisation, has set out to support small and medium enterprises whose innovations and activities are contributing to environmental protection and sustainability.
The initiative follows the selection of Reach for Change Ghana as one of five ecosystem builders for the next phase of Village Capital’s Empowering Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Africa (ESEA) programme.
Upon programme completion, four startups will receive USD25,000 each in grant funding, a statement shared with the Ghana News Agency said.
It said the initiative, supported by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, aims to provide investment readiness support and direct capital for impact-creating climate startups in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, and Tanzania.
The first phase of the initiative implemented in 2024 supported 14 community-led Ecosystem Builders from the five target countries.
“This next phase will see Village Capital partner with five ecosystem builders – one from each country – to run their entrepreneur focused programmes and provide pass-through funding to the climate-focused startups they support,” the statement said.
Applications are open, and would close on April 30, 2025.
“The call for applications is open to early-stage startups in the target markets developing high potential and scalable sustainability solutions in Climate Adaptation, Renewable Energy, Blue Economy, and Food Security,” it said.

Reach for Change Foundation has supported more than 300 social entrepreneurs who have reached more than 800,000 young people since the start of its operations in 2012.
The Foundation has also worked with over 200 women and youth on entrepreneurship capacity development and economic empowerment.
Village Capital has operated in sub-Saharan Africa since 2012, running over 14 accelerator programmes serving entrepreneurs in 15 countries in the region.
The Organisation has supported more than 120 locally-based startups and 78 Entrepreneur Support Organisations working in sectors such as financial health, hardware, sustainability, and the future of work.
