“The decision of the President superintends individual and factional interests so let us all respect his decision and support Mr Ameko,” he said.

Mr Galenkui made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Adaklu Waya in reaction to President John Mahama,s nominee for Adaklu.

He stated that in the interest of the party and country people who contested and those who were shortlisted but were not fortunate to be nominated should join hands and work for the betterment of the various Assembly.

Mr Galenkui was hopeful that members of the Adaklu District Assembly would endorse Mr Ameko to fill the vacuum created by the absence of a DCE for the area.

The Communications Officer said i his endorsement would also make the Assembly function effectively and efficiently.

He noted that Mr Ameko being “a grassroots person” would perform creditably to transform the district into an enviable one adding “I am sure when he assumes office he will work to increase the revenue of the Assembly.”

Rev. Samuel Amegboe, of the Assemblies of God Church entreated the incoming DCE to collaborate with the traditional authorities to make agriculture the backbone of the district.

He stated that the large tract of arable lands in the district if harnessed could be a “game-changer” for the economic and social development of the district.

Rev. Amegboe noted that for the country to develop fast, economic development should be localised and hoped the incoming DCE would take up that challenge.

A New Patriotic Party activist in the Constituency who identified himself only as Nicholas described Mr. Ameko as a very humble, affable, and hardworking person and said he was the perfect person for the position.

Mr Ameko before his nomination was the incumbent Constituency Chairman of the NDC was among several people nominated as Chief Executives for some Assemblies in a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to President.
