New media potential, an inspiring story of ‘Cokeman, a content creator

Sunyani, (Bono), March 24, GNA – He had his breakthrough during the COVID-19 pandemic after discovering the potential of the new media. 
 
TikTok, a popular social media platform reignited his passion for content creation and thereby leveraging the online tool, creates and sells more products. 
 
Angel Kofi Boakye Obodai, popularly known on the social media as “Cokeman” is a 31-year-old content creator from Kwanyako in the Central Region, however birthed in Darkuman, an Accra suburb. 
 
His creativity mostly reflects diverse Ghanaian culture and tradition portraying everyday struggles and aspirations of the masses. 
 
Cokeman says his motivation stems from his past doubts however, leverage on the new media tools, serving as drivers to transform his talent into career success. 

Achievements  
 
“Godsons”, his online tool that inspires users with inspirational, motivational and messages of hope, resilience and determination flaunt the social media in the COVID-19 seasons of 2021. 
 
That significantly enhanced his recognition after receiving feedback from millions of followers on the new media, inspiring them with live contents of hope and resilience. 
 
Cokeman said he had built a substantial online presence over the years, amassing three million followers on TikTok, more than 800,000 on Facebook, with about 160,000 followers and 230 subscribers on his personal YouTube channels. 
 
Team 
 
Currently, Cokeman said he leads a team of 50 individuals, comprising 20 influential content creators, impacting on the lives of their followers. 
 
Partnership 
 
Cokeman said he and the team of influencers were partnering with the ‘Favoured Brands Network’ a United States-based Ghanaian organisation. 

The Network belongs to Oseadeayo Ohemaa Ofosua Aduanwomah Amoakoa Ahoufe, the Queen-mother of the Kwahuman Association of Minnesota. 
 
Recognising the potential of his team, Cokeman said the network was helping to nurture their talents, empowering them with the requisite practical skills to add value and transform their products online. 
 
“The network aims at leveraging our influence to advocate social issues of good environmental sanitation through clean-up campaigns”, he stated. 
 
Challenges 
 
 Cokeman said content creation was bedevilled with challenges including limitations due to insufficient financial resources, and financial constraints had significantly slowed “our progress, making it difficult to initiative and execute new projects”. 
 
“We often received backlashes and counterattacks from peers in the industry having a huge emotional toll on us and thereby complicating the creative process”. 
 
 Support 
 
Cokeman highlighted the need for support from the corporate and the private sectors, advocating strong partnership to leverage his creativity and his influencers to impact society positively. 
 
He was confident that such collaborations would advance their work and thereby reach larger audiences and attract more trans-border followers. 
 
Way forward 
 
Convincingly, Cokeman’s inspiring work exemplifies how hard work and dedication, and he requires support to expand. 
 
His passion, hard work and commitment in pursuing his dreams and life aspirations serve as a motivation that will inspire the new generation of influencers and content creators. 
 
Cokeman’s initiative and creativity has proven the potential of using the new media productively, harnessing the positivity to make the lives of millions of people globally.
