Nangbagu (N/R), March 25, GNA – A fully furnished two-unit kindergarten classroom block with office, dining room and a sleeping lobby has been constructed for Nangbagu M/A Primary School in the Sagnarigu Municipality of Northern Region.
A four-seater toilet facility (KVIP) and urinal were also constructed as a compliment to the kindergarten block to serve as an early childhood development block.
Teaching and learning materials (TLMs) were also supplied to the facility including outdoor play equipment to create a conducive learning environment.
The facilities and TLMs were constructed by Markaz Al Bishara Child Development Programme (MABCDP) with funding support from Children Believe, an international NGO.
Mrs Esenam Kavi De Souza, Country Director of Children Believe, speaking at a ceremony to hand over the facilities and the items to the authorities of the school, expressed the organisation’s commitment to supporting and promoting early childhood education in the country.
She said so far, the organisation had funded the construction of 32 fully furnished early childhood development blocks in the country in partnership with national NGOs.
She encouraged parents to send their children to school early and at the appropriate age.
Mr Alhassan Alidu Junior, Northern Regional Director of Education, expressed gratitude to MABCDP and Children Believe for providing the facilities.
He gave assurance that the Ghana Education Service in collaboration with the School Management Committee would ensure the facilities were well managed to serve many generations.
